GENERAL

  1. What is Headstart Academy?

    • Headstart Academy is a multidisciplinary centre that supports children with special needs and learning difficulties through structured, evidence-based programs.
      ​

  2. What services do you offer?

    • We provide Early Intervention Programs (EIP), School Readiness Programs (SRP), therapy services (Speech Therapy, Behaviour Therapy (PBIS), Occupational Therapy), and Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA).
      ​

  3. Can I visit the academy?

    • Yes! You’re welcome to visit us on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Leave your contact number, and we’ll arrange the tour for you.
      ​

  4. Do you offer support for families facing financial challenges?

    • We currently don’t offer internal financial aid. However, you may apply for assistance through Yayasan Insan Istimewa Selangor (ANIS) or Lembaga Zakat.
      ​

  5. Do you have branches outside of Klang Valley?

    • Not yet — we are currently based only in the Klang Valley.
      ​

  6. Are there schools for teenagers with Autism?

    • Yes. Our new centre, Autism Youth Academy, provides programs specifically designed for teenagers on the spectrum.

GROUP-SETTING INTERVENTION PROGRAMME

 

  1. What is the Early Intervention Programme (EIP)?

    • EIP is designed for children aged 2.5–7 years with developmental delays. It focuses on motor, cognitive, adaptive, social, and communication skills. Each child follows a personalized therapy plan through an Individual Education Plan (IEP) to help them reach their developmental milestones.
       

  2. What is the School Readiness Programme (SRP)?

    • SRP is for children aged 5–10 years with learning difficulties. It helps children develop language, social, and academic skills, while adjusting to classroom routines and group activities. Each child has an Individua

      Education Plan (IEP) to support learning in reading, writing, mathematics, and communication, preparing them for mainstream school.
       

  3. Do you offer trial classes?

    • We don’t offer trial classes, but we have a 3-week Immersion Programme to help your child get familiar with the classroom and feel comfortable before starting EIP or SRP.

THERAPY & OTHER SERVICES

 

  1. Do you offer group therapy sessions?

    • No, we provide one-to-one therapy only to ensure individualized support for each child.
       

  2.  Do you offer extra-curricular activities for children on the spectrum?

    • Yes! We have Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) such as Gymnastics, Adapted Fitness, and Inclusive Play Programs to help children explore their strengths and build friendships.
       

  3. Are there package deals for therapy sessions?

    • Yes, we offer 10-session packages for Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech Therapy (ST), or Behaviour Therapy (BT). Packages are available on weekdays at all branches.
       

  4. Do you provide potty training?

    • Yes, our therapists manage toileting for children under 6 years old. For older children, we encourage parent or caregiver involvement to ensure safety.
