Job Overview:
Special Education Needs Teacher will coordinate and provide developmentally appropriate educational services to students whose abilities differ from their peers.
Requirements
• A Bachelor's degree in a related field (special education, early childhood education, psychology & etc)
• 1-2 years’ experience teaching in a special education school or center, OR fresh graduate;
• Ability to build good relationships with children, parents, Teachers, and Social Workers;
• Ability to work well with children from different backgrounds who have different abilities;
• Well-organized and self-driven to devise and adopt new techniques for teaching and keeping the class orderly;
• Ability to manage the classroom despite challenging behavior;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Compassionate, kind, and patient with kids;
• Excellent leader and mentor for students;
• Strong attention to detail and an inquisitive mind to understand each individual student;
• Fun & energetic.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
• Support students with a range of special educational needs, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and speech/language impairments.
• Assist the classroom teacher in planning, delivering, and adapting lessons to meet individual student needs.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support in and outside of the classroom to reinforce learning and foster independence.
• Help manage student behavior in line with individual behavior plans and school policies.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Support the development of students’ social, emotional, and communication skills.
• Assist with the personal care and mobility needs of students where required (e.g., toileting, feeding, use of mobility aids).
• Prepare and maintain learning materials and classroom resources.
• Assisting, monitoring and recording student progress, reporting observations to the teacher as appropriate.
• Attend training and professional development sessions as required.
• Assess students’ abilities and craft teaching plans;
• Adapt learning materials to students’ needs;
